Obituary of Joan Player Mitchell

Joan Player Mitchell peacefully joined her husband Lorren of 60 years, Monday March 7th 2022. Joan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Mary and William Player August 27th 1931. She was the third of five girls. She is predeceased by five children Mark, Matthew, Andrew, Theodore and Paul. She is survived by two children William and Michelle, as well as five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Joan attended high school at Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy in Ashland, Pa, run by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart. She was a member of the Philadelphia Girls Rowing Club. She then went into the Navy where she served in Naval intelligence during the Korean War. Once her children were older, Joan went back to work and eventually retired from Deluxe check printers Joan lived a full life. She loved her family and had a strong faith in God. She was the best wife, mother, sister and friend anyone could ask for Funeral services will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church 1940 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953, Saturday, March 19th at 1 PM. A celebration of life will be following at the Veterans Memorial Museum on Merritt Island. 400 S Sykes Creek Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32952.
