Obituary of Phyllis Elizabeth DeBord

Phyllis Elizabeth Blevins Debord, 78, of Viera, Florida passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born in Saltville, Virginia on October 10, 1943, a daughter of the late John and Agnes Daughtery Blevins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Curtis, Albert, Charles, and Arley Blevins and five sisters, Eva Goodpasture, Ovella Smith, Christine Chandler, Pamela Blevins and Elizabeth Blevins. Phyllis never met a stranger and soon whoever knew her called her “Lil Phyl”! She was of the Baptist faith. Phyllis had many careers ranging from being a phone operator, a receptionist, a beautician, managing & owning beauty shops, and found her true calling as a realtor in Orlando, Florida. She “aced” the real estate test, received her license and became an award winning realtor that focused on the Conway section of Orlando for 20 years. Lil Phyl built her real estate business upon referrals, and her clients became her friends. Lil Phyl was successful in real estate due to her strong work ethic, advocacy for her clients, and a tenacious approach to negotiation…..she did NOT give up! Her hobbies included a love for Country & Gospel music, singing karaoke, doting on her grandchildren and a passionate obsession for Tom Brady (after he left the New England Patriots)! Lil Phyl had a caring heart, infectious personality, she always smiling & laughing, and making others laugh with a wicked sense of humor. Lil Phyl is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, William “Harold” DeBord; son, John DeBord and wife Gina; grandsons, Luke and Dylan DeBord; sister Jeannie Warren; sister-in-law Darla DeBord; special nieces Carolyn Messer (Tony), Chandra Gumpert (Rick), Tammy Crystal (Greg), Dawn Edwards (Robert), Ruth Anne Taylor Carreras (Joe) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and an infinite number of friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Edwin Chan, caregiver Judy Hayes and a very special friend, Maria Blaylock. Also, thanks to St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care for the love and care shown to Lil Phyl during her illness. In Lieu of Flowers, please consider a donation to the American Liver Foundation, https://liverfoundation.org/for-patients/donate-now/ Mrs. DeBord is in the care of the Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Viera Florida.
